Artisans who collaborate with RAW make a profusion of heritage-based crafts (attuned to Massachusetts markets!). These include baskets, winnowing trays, mats, birdhouses, stone sculptures, wood creations, and even story quilt squares and a bamboo bicycle. Some also make, in great abundance, a variety of types of handwoven textiles and embroideries. RAW provides the materials for making all of these crafts at no cost to the individual artisan; RAW returns at least 85% of the sales proceeds to each maker, for them to use as they wish. Creativity, energy, and boldness are the interrelated hallmarks of these extraordinary artisans’ work in Worcester.
