Thay Dung, retired now,  makes precise pictorial designs using pyrography techniques on wood (on canes, boxes, or short pieces of wood). That is, he burns line designs into the surface of the wood. This is a craft he studied in Vietnam before his move to Worcester. This decorated pine box shows a figure of Medusa with a tangle of coiled snakes atop her head. The figure is obviously transnational.
