"Miguel"

Embroiderer
Cultural Group
Honduras

Miguel, now in public high school in Worcester and living with an ultra-supportive foster mother, makes vibrant embroideries in his partnership with RAW. His creations are used as insets in greeting cards and depict natural world images such as birds.  He has been mentored by his foster mother with care; she herself is originally from Brazil and runs a small business, after attending Quinsigamond Community College. Determined to succeed in his new life in America, Miguel makes art work as one important stepping stone toward that goal.
